Tools
Many people often ask what it takes to create a dinosaur model,
I have assembled a list of suggested items above to help the beginning
modeler to get started. I am sure that there are many more tools
that could be utilized, however, this is a very good start.
Tips
I was fortunate enough to get some pretty good tips from a couple
of very talented artists when I was just getting started in the
field and would like to share them with you now:
-
Make a wire armature cover it with foil and then rough-in the
general shape of your animal.
-
Bake well (until the sculpey is dark orange).
- Build
your muscles on top of this "rough" sculpture.
- Bake
your teeth (if any) seperately and then insert them into the animal.
- If
your animal has a reoccuring scale/fur/feather pattern, make yourself
a stamp tool for your skin covering.
- Sculpt
with the glass eyes in place - don't worry, baking at such a low
temp. won't hurt them and they will cast perfectly.
These
are just a few suggestions, if you have more please email
me and I will include them in this list.
