July 10: Second Saturday Walking Tour: “Washington Avenue”

This tour begins outside The London Tea Room at 16th & Washington, and ends at America's Center between 7th & 8th Streets & Washington Avenue. It covers the French Colonial period onward, highlights the current Downtown Renaissance and includes such sites as: The Monogram Building, Windows on Washington, The Ely Walker Lofts, Trailnet, Ozzie's, The Levine Hat Company, The International Shoe Company, The Grace Lofts, Fashion Square, The Bogen Lofts,The Merchandise Mart Building, The Lammert Building, the A.I.A Bookstore and The Renaissance Grand Hotel.

July 24: Narrated Coach Tour of Civil War St. Louis
(NOTE: must make reservation no later than Friday, July 3rd)

St. Louis was as hotly divided as any city in the United States in the years leading up to and during the Civil War. It would prove critical to the survival of the Union in the War Between the States. This 5 hour tour (with an hour stop for lunch) tells the stories of that dramatic era and includes such sites as the Federal Arsenal of the West, Lyon Park, the Chatillon-DeMenil Mansion atop Arsenal Hill, the Gratiot Street Prison, the Massacre at Lindell’s Grove, the Sculpture of Ulysses S. Grant in Washington Square, The Campbell House Museum, The Mississippi Riverfront, The Old Post Office, The Chestnut Street Women's Prison, the Old Courthouse, The Morgan Street Safe Room on the Underground Railroad, Camp Ethiopia, and the Confederate Memorial in Forest Park.

August 14: Second Saturday Walking Tour: “Skyscraper Central"

This tour begins outside Starbucks at 6th & Olive, ends at Schnucks Culinaria at 9th & Olive and focusses on the many and varied skyscrapers around Post Office Square including:

 September 4: Narrated Coach Tour: “French Colonial St. Louis”
(NOTE: must make reservation no later than Friday, August 13th.)

This tour covers the broad geographic parameters of the Colonial Village of Saint Louis from Sugar Loaf Mound in the south to Mound Street in the north, from the Mississippi River in the east to beyond Grand Avenue in the west and St. Louis history from 1764 to 1804 when Lewis & Clark arrived to witness the transfer of power from Spain to the United States of America. It includes such sites as Sugar Loaf Mound, the Peoria Indian Village, Soulard Market, Lafayette Square, Joseph Motard’s outbuilding on McKay Place, La Petite Rivere/The Mill Creek, the Colonial Village Proper (today the Arch Grounds), the Mississippi Riverfront, the Basilica of St. Louis King of France, the Tower of Fort San Carlos, Ottawa Chief Pontiac's Grave, the Common Fields of Saint Louis, and the Old Courthouse.

Sept. 11: Second Saturday Walking Tour: “Walking the Colonial Village"

This tour begins below the left side of the Arch staircase, on the levee, close to the river, ends in Kiener Plaza and includes a virtual exploration of the French Colonial Village of Saint Louis circa 1812.It includes such sites as: the Foot of Market Street, Rue de la Place, St. Louis' 1st Marketplace, La Poste de Saint Louis, Main Street/Rue Royale, William Clark's Home, Church Street/Rue d'Elise, Dr. Saugrain's Home & Garden, Mme. Marie Chouteau's Home, the 1st Graveyard in St. Louis, Jeanette & Gregoire Fourchet's Home, Barn Street/Rue des Granges, the Tower of Fort San Carlos, Chief Pontiac's Grave, The Old Courthouse, and the St. Louis Prairie Common Fields.

Oct. 9: Second Saturday Walking Tour: “Haunting Soulard”
(Pick up coffee, fruit or a pastry in the oldest, continuously maintained, public market in the United States and be ready to walk at 9:30.) 

This tour begins near the south, side entrance to the Soulard Market Building at 8th & Lafayette and ends at The Lemp Mansion on DeMenil Place near Cherokee Street. We'll cover one of the most historically atmospheric neighborhoods in St. Louis from Colonial Times to the present and approximately 2 miles.  This tour is filled with stories of hauntings and includes such sites & subjects as: Soulard Market, Frenchtown, the Great Cyclone of 1896, 8th Street, Trinity Lutheran and Sts. Peter & Paul Churches, Russell Blvd., 12th Street, McGurk's Pub, Dr. Franz Arzt's House, the Lions House, the Oldest Ghost Story in St. Louis, Cherokee Cave, Arsenal Hill, DeMenil Place, the Haunted Lemps. Faint of heart be forewarned!

(November Second Saturday Tour moves to Saturday after Thanksgiving) 

This Holiday Shopping Walk begins at the London Tea Room at 16th & Washington, ends at Macy's at 6th & Olive and includes some of the best holiday shopping possibilities for Hannakuh and Christmas in Downtown St. Louis including:  The London Tea Room, the Campbell House Museum Gift Shop, Macro Sun, Fashion Square, Eve's Apple Second Hand Shop, Salt of the Earth, Left Bank Books, The Cafe Cioccolata, The Fur & Leather Gallery, The Old Courthouse Gift Shop and Macy's.
